Culture Ireland, Merrigoround Music, The Canberra Musicians Club and The Polish Club proudly present: The Young Folk

The Young Folk are bringing their gorgeous musical tales of life and vulnerability to Australian shores from late February 2017.

Balancing delicacy with boldness, tender songwriting with A1 harmonies and musicality with a nod to tradition and indie-pop inflection, the Young Folk share an unmistakable Irish heritage in both sound and ancestry.

Consisting of a creative triangle with Anthony Furey at its apex joined by Paul Butler and Tony McLoughlin who are singer/songwriters of exceptional talent in their own right, the trio are joined by Alex Borwick for this tour, enabling The Young Folk to fully flex their musical muscle.

Anthony’s cracking set of vocal pipes sit at the helm of The Young Folk, effortlessly guiding the listener through each story. Veteran’s of the Irish Festival scene, The Young Folk have also extensively toured the European festival circuit winning fans in the Netherlands and legion’s of BBC presenters, after a fortuitous set at Caffe Nero in the BBC’s London building.

Ireland’s President Michael D. Higgins ranks as The Young Folk’s most notable fan to date after he organised them to perform at a private function at his residence.

Recently wed to a co-management and record licensing agreement between ARC Music Productions and Tom Sarig and his Esther Creative Group (ECG), this Australian tour promises to be one of several new terrains The Young Folk explore to spread their sound further across the globe this year. Their second album, “First sign of Morning” will have its Australian release on this tour.
